Sure, Discover America is the acoustic solo project of one Chris Staples, but that doesn’t mean you can group him with other emo songwriting cohorts like Dashboard Confessional or Bright Eyes. As Discover America, Staples has written a jewel of an album with lo-fi delights like "Call it in the Air” to the Weezer-esque power pop "Stark Honesty,” making Psychology an easy listen. Fans of electro-pop a la the Postal Service would be pleased to discover tracks like "Green Eyes,” equipped with muffled beats and catchy synth hooks. Psychology is a genre-bending album that has a song for just about everybody to enjoy.
