Dirty Tricks

Sauve Qui Peut!

BY Rob NayPublished Aug 14, 2007

The Dirty Tricks don’t bother with the politeness of knocking. Sauve Qui Peut! knocks down doors with the steady-handed determination of starting a boisterous house party. The Montreal band’s latest opens with the roar of "Red Wave” and doesn’t back down throughout the entire course of the record. "Mal de Tete” burns with a sinister groove that points towards the Murder City Devils and Hot Water Music having a late night picnic. "Blvd.” adds some prominent synth into the mix and includes another layer of melody in the group’s teeth-baring approach. Sauve Qui Peut! is a consistently solid and strong-willed rock record.
