Dieter Moebius Celebrated with Retrospective Harmonia Box Set

Earlier this week, we were saddened to learn that influential krautrock pioneer Dieter Moebius had passed away. Moebius leaves behind an enormous catalogue of music, both as a solo artist and with his bands. One of those, the beloved Harmonia, will be celebrated with a new box set.

In addition to Moebius, Harmonia featured his Cluster band-mate Hans-Joachim Roedelius as well as Michael Rother of Neu! Grönland Records will issue the band's complete works in a new set called, well, Complete Works.

In a press release, they explained that they've been working on the project with Moebius for some time. "We at Grönland have had the pleasure to have worked very closely with Dieter in recent years and we will miss him dearly," the label said. "We knew about his illness and despite this, he continued working closely on the box set with us. He and Grönland always wanted the box to be a statement of this incredible music and of life itself."

Complete Works includes remastered versions of the albums Musik Von Harmonia and Deluxe, as well as Track and Traces (featuring Brian Eno), the live album Live 1974 and the new collection Documents 1975. The release also features a 36-page booklet, a poster and some three-dimensional pop-up artwork.

Complete Works will arrive on October 23.
