With 2010's Special Affections, Toronto pop maestro Diamond Rings earned himself a host of fans and a U.S. deal with Astralwerks. Now, the songwriter also known as John O'Regan is looking to make another splash as he gears up to release a single in advance of a new album.
The single is called "I'm Just Me," and a press release notes that it will appear on Diamond Rings' upcoming sophomore LP. Like the rest of the new album, the song was co-produced by Montreal-based studio whiz Damian Taylor (Björk, Austra). According to a press release, it marks O'Regan's move "out of the bedroom and into the nightclub."
The single comes out on June 26 through Secret City Records. Check out a teaser video below. It's only 26 seconds long, but it suggests that this may indeed be a very clubby effort from O'Regan
So far, there is no word on when we can expect that new full-length or what it will be called.
