We're one week away from the January 25 release of Destroyer's ninth official LP, Kaputt. If you can't wait seven more sleeps to hear the latest from the eclectic Vancouver songwriter, you can stream the whole thing now.
Unlike most of Destroyer's past work, which has emphasized guitar-heavy rock and folk, Kaputt is packed with new age-y synth pads and sultry soft rock horns. This largely electronic sound won't come as a surprise to anyone who's listened to his recent seven-inches, Archer on the Beach and Bay of Pigs (the title track from the latter re-appears here).
Head here to listen to the album over on Hype Machine. Go here to see the surreal video for the disco-infused title track.
