A project by Mitchell Akiyama with Tony Boggs with very nice packaging, photography and layout and the theme fits with what’s on the disc. Amid very jittery, dislocated, and skipping loops there are sampled sounds of plucked strings, piano, drums, female voice, blues steel guitar, horns, chimes, orchestral strings among others, sometimes effected beyond recognition. All throughout the disc there are noises of click and cut rhythms, vibrating generators on the fritz, high ringing drones, static stuttering and it is surprisingly very pretty even though slightly noisy. Even some ethno-traditional drum/stick rhythm sound that is electronic in reality. It all has a very plaintive aspect to it, a feeling of distance, beautiful and lonely.
