Though Deerhunter leader Bradford Cox is currently in the midst of a promotion cycle for his Atlas Sound project's latest LP, Parallax, the rest of the Atlanta outfit aren't exactly twiddling their thumbs waiting for his return. Fellow songwriter Lockett Pundt, for example, is using the time off to rep his other project, Lotus Plaza, and has just announced a new LP of his own.
Pundt will issue his second Lotus Plaza album, Spooky Action at a Distance, on April 2 through Kranky. The ten-song outing follows 2009's Exclaim!-approved debut, The Floodlight Collective, which we praised over its shoe gazing and "dreamlike symphonies."
Up first, however, is an upcoming ten-inch split between Lotus Plaza and Nice Weekend, which is a collaborative project between Pundt and his fiancée Shayda Yavari. You can stream the Lotus Plaza track, "Come Back," down below. Audraglint issues the split in a limited pressing of 500 LPs and digitally on February 14.
As previously reported, Lotus Plaza will also be hitting the road in April with labelmates Disappears, and will play Canadian dates in Toronto and Montreal.
