Miami 2007

BY Sarah FergusonPublished May 22, 2007

This two-disc mix showcasing the underground sounds of the Miami Music Conference offers a fresh melange of sounds that travels like a journey. An open, airy soundscape filled with dirty tech-beats, trance elements and Nintendo samples can be heard on the first CD, maintaining a danceable club glow. The second disc, however, brings in a deeper tribal vibe. Low, intelligent bass lines and thoughtfully lit techno grooves dominate, of which some fine examples of new music shine out. You’ll hear the widely played electro mix of "Let’s Get Dirty” by Stereo Scum featuring Melleefresh. The progression from the first disc to the second is successful in its movement and the variety of sounds on these CDs could please a diverse collection of dance music fans. Said by the DJ himself, "this album is a great search for what will be the musical high points of the summer season,” and a good mix to play on the stereo before you go to the club.
