David Bowie's 'VH1 Storytellers' Treated to Vinyl Release

The double-LP package arrives this fall

On August 23, 1999, David Bowie performed on the VH1 Storytellers series — and this fall, following the performance's 20th anniversary, the live recordings are getting a vinyl release. We can expect a double LP release October 11 via Parlophone.

The iconic performance was filled with songs rarely treated to live renditions. "Can't Help Thinking About Me" and "Word on a Wing" both made the setlist, as well as 10 other tracks and commentary from Ziggy Stardust himself.

Bowie's VH1 Storytellers was previously only available on CD and DVD. However, the vinyl treatment will feature four tracks not found on the 2009 release, with "Survive," "I Can't Read," "Always Crashing in the Same Car" and "If I'm Dreaming My Life" now all added.

VH1 Storytellers was host to a variety of noteworthy musicians like Bruce Springsteen, Kanye West, Pearl Jam, My Morning Jacket and more.

This isn't the only recent attempt at rebooting Bowie's legacy; Stardust — a new Gabriel Range-directed Bowie biopic starring Johnny Flynn and Marc Maron — is on its way soon. Also, the BBC aired a documentary titled David Bowie: The Last Five Years back in 2017.

David Bowie's final recording before he passed was 2016's Blackstar.
