Who are you?
Dave Kaple.
What are you up to?
Waiting for something to happen in my life.
Hometown and current HQ:
Kitchener.
Current fixations:
DVD movies, currently writing my girlfriend an 80 page letter to give to her by Christmas.
Mind altering work of art (not your own):
The Vapors' New Clear Days, or their cover art for their Magnets album (you should see it!).
Most memorable/inspirational gig and why? Love and Rockets, Thursday April 21/88. They opened as the Bubblemen, their alter ego, at the Concert Hall.
What should everyone shut up about?
The American Election.
Your greatest strength and weakness: Neatness/Worrying about neatness.
Your vital daily ritual:
Think about my kids, Jessica Breault 8 yrs, Kyle Kaple 6 yrs. I don't know where they are.
Guilty pleasure: Sweets.
If I wasn't playing music I would be: Playing hockey, photographer.
Your most memorable day job:
Zehrs food market, stock boy and packer.
Best/worst advice received:
Take photography classes/Always tell the truth.
I would drop everything to play a benefit for: The band members of the Vapors.
What makes you want to take it off and get it on? Women wearing tight black jeans.
What personal trait would make you kick someone out of your band? And have you? Picking their nose. No I haven't.
When I think of Canada I think:
The Diodes, Low crime and Niagara on the lake.
Music and sex: Is there a difference? Why? Music: Play Loud. Sex: Play hard.
Strangest brush with celebrity: Meeting Gene Simmons at a signing. I said to him,"You look like my dad" and he thought about it for a moment and said,"Does that mean your mother and I did it?"
What does your mom wish you were doing instead? She's never said, but my guess is a photographer.
