There's still no word on exactly when French electronic duo Daft Punk will deliver their next guest-heavy album, but you'll be able to hear some new tunes from member Thomas Bangalter in a new short film starring Lindsay Lohan.
The New York Times [via Pitchfork] reports that Bangalter is behind the score for First Point, a new short about surfing. Directed by Richard Phillips, the film also features the work of surf filmmaker Taylor Steele, and has pro waverider Kassia Meador acting as Lohan's stunt double. Sequences were shot at a private surf compound in California, as well as at Surfrider Beach in Malibu.
The film screens at the Art Basel festival in Switzerland this week. You can get a taste of the minimalist synth score in the trailer down below.
As for Daft Punk, while we still don't know when their new record will drop, we do know Giorgio Moroder, Niles Rodgers and Paul Williams will all make an appearance.
