As if having the year's most insanely buzzed-about album weren't already enough, French electronic kings (and current Exclaim! cover stars) Daft Punk are now making an unexpected foray into the world of car racing by sponsoring an F1 vehicle and appearing in commercials.

As Pitchfork points out, Daft Punk have teamed up with British racers Lotus F1 Team, who have shared a few bite-sized video clips showcasing the collaboration. These clips show the robots, whose helmets make them look a bit like drivers themselves, along with a race car branded with their distinctive logo. Watch an unofficial compilation of those clips below.

Meanwhile, Lotus F1 Team's YouTube and Twitter accounts are covered in Daft Punk imagery and are splashed with the hashtag #GetLucky. There's also a number of photos that show the Daft Punk-themed car.

Lotus F1 Team is currently racing in the Formula One race the Grand Prix de Monaco. We can't but wonder if the driver has the middle section of "Giorgio by Moroder" cranked as he zooms around the track.
