Atlanta singer-songwriter Curtis Harding has announced his upcoming third studio album If Words Were Flowers, out November 5 on Anti. He's also dropped "Can't Hide It," the record's stomping, glittery new single.
Along with the announcement, Harding has also shared the '70s-throwback video for "Can't Hide It." The Michele Civetta-directed visuals feature actors Omar Dorsey and Anthony Mackie as they host The Velvet Touch, a fictional, lost-to-time talk show. You can check that out below.
"Can't Hide It" follows previously released singles "I Won't Let You Down" and "Hopeful."
In a statement about the record, Harding explained that it was inspired by something his mother used to say: "Give me my flowers while I'm still here."
"That's what this album is," he said. "It's me giving my flowers to the world, to anybody who needs to hear what these songs have to say right now."
According to Harding, the album draws from vintage soul, garage rock, hip-hop, R&B and psychedelia, and was produced by Harding and frequent collaborator Sam Cohen.
Harding's last record was 2017's Face Your Fear.
