Courtney Barnett has been teasing the arrival of her Tell Me How You Really Feel for what feels like forever, but now the album is finally here. Yes, that means you can stream the entire record now.
The new album marks the follow-up to the Australian songwriter's 2015 debut LP Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, though she also released collaborative album Lotta Sea Lice with Kurt Vile last year.
A press release previously promised that the new album hears Barnett imbuing her music with a sound that incorporates "a new-found directness," "a muscularity to the instrumentation," "a tenderness in her voice" and "a boldness to the lyrics."
In a recent Exclaim! interview, Barnett herself said of Tell Me How You Really Feel that "all the human emotions seem to be in there somehow."
She added, "Everything's interesting in its own way to write about. You uncover some hidden thing you weren't expecting or didn't know was there, so it's all just looking for knowledge and more understanding. It's all hard, but it's all rewarding."
Tell Me How You Really Feel is out now via Mom+Pop/Marathon Artists/Milk! Records, and you can stream it in full below.
Barnett is currently on tour ahead of the record's release. You can find her complete itinerary here.
