There must be something about living in the wasteland of Buffalo, NY, that spawns bands like the Control. Playing uncompromising hardcore, fast and raw, this quartet is likely to make their mark on the scene. Zipping through four songs in six minutes, they toss in melodic riffs that bounce off the coarse vocals, making for an intriguing listen. The content is as bleak and cold as their hometown, with themes of suicide, boredom and the cold, cold winter. It will be interesting to see if they can maintain this intensity on their upcoming full-length.
