Coldfront

"Shed Light" (video)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jun 24, 2016

Despite their icy name, Coldfront are showing off their compassionate side on their latest single "Shed Light," and Exclaim! has your first look at the accompanying music video.

The track was inspired guitarist and vocalist Christopher Casarin's experience watching his sister come out of a physically and mentally abusive relationship.

"Hopefully the video and song will start a conversation and encourage people to speak up if they know someone going through the same thing, or if they are going through it themselves," he said in a statement. "Hopefully this video will open people's eyes."

The intense new clip splices together aggressive performance footage from the band with the visual narrative of a young woman in the aftermath of abuse.

"Shed Light" appears on Coldfront's upcoming EP Is This Where They Found You?, which is due out on July 8 through New Damage Records. Right now, scroll past the band's upcoming shows with Seaway to watch the video premiere of "Shed Light" in the player below.
