So-Cal indie rockers Cold War Kids have announced the release of a free digital EP.

Mulberry Street is a rare, out-of-print EP that features six songs recorded prior to their latest album Robbers & Cowards'. The band said that they are making the recording available for free as a "thank you" to their fans.

"Cold War Kids recorded three, six-song EPs before releasing Robbers & Cowards," said in a statement. "The first of the three EPs is called 'Mulberry Street'.

Mulberry Street -- named after the Mulberry St. Ristorante in Fullerton, Ca, above which guitarist/vocalist Jonnie Russell had an apartment -- was one of three EPs the band released in 2006.

"It was recorded in a day in photographer M Wignall's garage/studio for some design job favors from (bassist Matt) Maust and sixty bucks." explained frontman Nathan Willett.

The EP is available at coldwarkids.rcrdlbl.com
