Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Reform for 'Hysterical'

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 19, 2011

Back in early 2009, former buzz band Clap Your Hands Say Yeah announced that they would be taking an indefinite hiatus. And with singer Alec Ounsworth releasing a solo album soon after, it seemed that the musicians had moved onto other projects. Now, they have reformed and announced their third album.

Entitled Hysterical, the LP is due to drop on September 20 in North America. It comes out a week earlier, September 12, in the UK and Europe. It was produced by studio genius John Congleton, who has also worked with Modest Mouse, Black Mountain, the Walkmen and many more, and will be self-released by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. You can watch a teaser video for the album below, which contains studio footage and partial song clips.

The band also have a number of tour dates planned. While the majority of them are in Europe, there are two California shows. See the schedule below.

But before any of that takes place, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah will remaster and reissue their beloved 2005 self-titled debut on vinyl on June 14.
