Cityreal has an album called Lost in Vancouver due out later this year, but in the meantime, the British Columbia rapper is releasing an EP called Prologue. It's officially out on March 31, and the entire thing is available to stream now on Exclaim.ca.
Each of these six tracks features at least one special guest, and these contributors help to diversify Cityreal's hip-hop arrangements. "Prologue" (plus its separate intro track) mixes spoken word self-help philosophy with gospel vocals, while "Around Here" offers soulful reflections on Cityreal's hometown. Swollen Members lend their rhymes to the hard-charging "Antigraceful," while "Crusin'" is a hip-hop take on the classic Smokey Robinson tune with singing from Rykka.
