Folk singer who cut his teeth playing hardcore punk, Chuck Ragan, performed three powerful anthems when he stopped by the Exclaim! office the afternoon before the Revival Tour's Toronto stop.
Here's the last of the bunch, "You Get What You Give." Ragan's gravelly vocals soar above his acoustic guitar as Jon Gaunt plays intertwining melodies on his fiddle. Around a minute in Joe Ginsberg's upright bass really kicks in with a robust sound filling up the small space of Exclaim!'s backyard.
This song together with the other Exclaim! TV sessions "Nomad By Fate" and "Nothing Left to Prove" represents the first three tracks on Ragan's 2011 album, Covering Ground.
