Christopher Lee

"Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Dec 9, 2014

Just like a fresh glass of eggnog or a kiss under the mistletoe, we've grown accustomed to wicked old Lord Summerisle (a.k.a. veteran actor Christopher Lee) delivering a metal-minded carol this time of year. This time, the baritone boom of the Hammer Horror thespian can be heard twisting up "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" as a decidedly more daemonic "Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing."

The crunchy take on the Christmas classic has Lee sermonizing on the power of metal, and how it surges through a banger's soul all year long. Down below, you can catch a snippet of Lee praising the almighty power chord ("Christ, I want to hear some more").

As Lee explains in a statement: "It's lighthearted, joyful and fun. It's a band singing on how metal should be played, the effect it has on the band and its listeners."

You can catch a quick preview of the track in the YouTube player down below, while Lee's most recent holiday treat can be picked up through digital retailers.
