Kanye West

"Christmas in Harlem" (official version)

All those glowing reviews and big sales for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy have clearly inflated Kanye's ego a little too much to stay on top of his G.O.O.D. Fridays series. However, he did manage to drop one more single, and appropriately, it's the official version of his recently leaked ghetto Christmas song.

The track is called "Christmas in Harlem," and it features soulful, heartfelt production that harkens back to Ye's College Dropout era. Fittingly, his verse is much less arrogant artist and more of that old-school goofing around, referencing Bad Santa and making some dirty jokes. Dipset rappers Cam'ron and Jim Jones offer a much-needed break from the increasingly insular G.O.O.D. Music crew on the Christmas classic before Pusha-T, CyHi Da Prynce and Big Sean bring it back to the G.O.O.D. Friday standard.

The song clocks in at 6:31, so it's not exactly concise, but the feel-good production and variety of talent make it feel like an evening spent in front of the fireplace, so it's not all that bad.
