Charity Auction Offers Chance To Re-Enact Famous Smiths Photo

If you’ve ever spent time styling your hair to recreate Morrissey’s infamous pompadour or stood in front of a mirror in your bedroom playing guitar and pretending to be Johnny Marr, then you'll be elated to know now’s your chance to recreate one of the Smiths’ most iconic moments.

A UK-based charity auction is currently selling off the opportunity to strike a pose with the band’s original photographer Stephen Wright to help Morrissey raise money to save the Salford Lads' Club, which was immortalised on the inside of their seminal album, The Queen Is Dead (pictured above).

This will be the main attraction as part of the Cancer Research's Sound and Vision 2008 event at renowned Abbey Road studios. Other prizes to bid on will include limited edition signed prints from such artists as Johnny Cash and the Doors. Musical performances from the Brand New Heavies, Beverley Knight and 10cc will take place during the event on February 28.
