Champion Returns with 'Best Seller' Album

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Apr 12, 2016

Three years removed from beating lymphoma and releasing °1, Montreal-based electronic musician Maxime Morin has revealed the details behind his next full-length as Champion. Titled Best Seller, the record will see release early next month.

Entirely self-produced, the 13 tracks that make up Best Seller are said to be "vibrant, festive, and sure to make you smile and dance" while drawing from the likes of pop, rock and electronic music. Vocal collaborations come from Lou Laurence, Marie-Christine Depestre and Anna Frances Meyer (Les Deuxluxes).

A press release reveals that the title Best Seller is a nod to declining physical record sales, as well as Champion's artistic motto "to do it for the hell of it and not take himself too seriously."

Like his past records, his latest celebrates life, saying that music brings him "love, neutrality and nonconformity." Along with the record announcement, the man has also shared some visuals for leading single "Life Is Good," which can be found below.

Best Seller is set to arrive on May 6 through Bonsound. Scroll through the record's tracklisting and Champion's upcoming tour dates to watch the video for "Life Is Good" below.
