Following the introductory tease of Stereolab offshoot Cavern of Anti-Matter's debut LP, Void Beats/Invocation Trex, the project has now offered up another rhythmic and whimsical preview. Their "Tardis Cymbals" is splashing via an online stream right now.
As previously reported, the outfit comprises Stereolab's Tim Gane, former Stereolab drummer Joe Dillworth and synth player Holger Zapf, and for this particular track, they've started things off with a twilight shimmer of keys and effects-laden guitar. The tones twist and loop before the full band dives into a Lite Brite-lit Krautrock groove.
You can hear the song below while the album, which features guest performances from the likes of Deerhunter's Bradford Cox and Mouse on Mars' Jan St. Werner, will be released February 19 via Duophonic.
