Catlow

"Pinkly Things" (video)

BY Kristen KerstnerPublished Mar 28, 2013

Last year, indie-pop Vancouver native Catlow, (aka Natasha Thirsk), finally delivered her Pinkly Things EP, the follow-up to her 2006 debut Kiss the World. Now, the melodic songstress has given us something new to sink our teeth into with a brand new video, shot and directed by Thirsk herself, for Pinkly Things' title track.

The video is a compilation of shots filmed in Vancouver and Squamish, BC, Paulsbo, WA, and Chicago, IL, and strings together car window and highway clips, intercut by shots of Natasha at stops in the various locations. As the video progresses and the song builds, the different shots and effects become more heavily layered before switching entirely from natural landscapes to a more experimental tone with celestial backdrops, flashing colours and a creepy close-up of someone's eye.

Catlow will be holding a video release show on March 30 at Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret, but in the meantime, get a first look at the new "Pinkly Things" video below.
