French synthwave hero Carpenter Brut has popped up out of nowhere today to give us a surprise album. Titled Leather Teeth, the full-length is out now.
The eight-track record comes via No Quarter Prod/Caroline and is an imagined soundtrack from the mind of Carpenter Brut. According to a press release, the story is of a shy American teen named Bret Halford, "who can't get the girl and will do anything he can to win her over, including becoming the singer of one of the most talked about bands in mid-'80s glam-metal, Leather Patrol."
As for how that actually sounds, though, Carpenter Brut says to expect "pure frenzy like Master of Puppets, or any of the good old metal albums: eight tracks wrapped in 32 minutes of sound. Put it on repeat if it's too short."
Down at the bottom of the page, you can stream Leather Teeth in full — and put it on repeat — or pick it up over here via the service of your choice.
Along with the new album, Carpenter Brut has a North American tour coming up, complete with Canadian dates in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. You can see the full schedule below.
