This fall, production whiz Flying Lotus will return with his long-awaited You're Dead! LP. The album's many guests include Herbie Hancock, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar, but also two appearances from FlyLo's own demented rap alter-ego Captain Murphy. To learn more about the cartoonish rapper, Adult Swim have shared his origin story.
The four-and-a-half-minute cartoon works as a stand-alone clip, and fits well into Adult Swim's canon. There are plenty of colourful scenes, exploding heads, weirdo characters and a pretty rad vintage video game section. It's an excellent watch that already has us hoping for more Captain Murphy cartoons.
