Camera Obscura Plot North American Tour, Play Toronto

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 19, 2014

Last year, the sensitive Scots of Camera Obscura toured North America in support of their latest album, Desire Lines. In 2014, the twee-pop outfit will return to our continent for another batch of shows.

Following some performances in the UK and Ireland in May, Camera Obscura will cross the pond for a relatively brief North American tour in the second half of July. In addition to a number of U.S. gigs, there is a Canadian date in Toronto on July 22. See the schedule below.

This is the first tour since frontwoman Tracyanne Campbell and bassist Gavin Dunbar respectively had children. Campbell said in a statement, "The new parents are looking forward to coming over after maternity and paternity leave, and the rest are looking forward to returning to work."

The band will release their prior 4AD Session on Record Store Day (April 19). This four-song Session EP will be pressed on seven-inch vinyl. The full session is embedded at the bottom of this page (although note that "New Year's Resolution" isn't included on the vinyl pressing).
