Calgary's Hifi Club Shuts Down Permanently

BY Josiah HughesPublished Nov 11, 2020

For 15 years, Calgary's Hifi Club has opened its doors to both international and local acts, developing a global reputation as a go-to spot for DJs around the world. Now, the venue has shut down for good.

In an announcement on their social media pages, the venue revealed that despite fundraising efforts and various other initiatives, they were unable to reach an agreement with their landlord and could not cover their operating costs during coronavirus.

"Down the road we are going to re-evaluate and hopefully be able to create a new space for you to enjoy. So keep your eyes peeled for that," they wrote. "But in the meantime take care of each other. Check in on your friends, please."
