Calgary's 420 Music and Arts Festival is set to celebrate the magical stoner number and the genres of rock that surround it next month, and organizers are gearing up for the fest's inaugural edition.
The festival is set to run from April 20 through 22 at Distortion, with the first night featuring Black Mastiff, Highkicks, La Chinga, the Electric Revival Buffalo Bud Buster, Hypnopilot, and Set & Stoned.
The bill on April 21 is set to feature Vancouver's Anciients, Dead Quiet, Lavagoat, Orbital Express, ChronoBot, Lordosis and Hunted by Ravens. Closing things out on April 22 are Dallas stoner icons Wo Fat, Chron Goblin, Cowpuncher, Mammoth Grove, NVGR, Black Thunder, Brown Dwarf and Bazaraba.
Along with musical fare, the festival will put the work of local artists, craftsmen and marijuana vendors on display at the 420 Expo, taking place on April 22 at the venue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees will also be able to indulge in food from Southern Alberta's best food trucks and participate in a Beard Contest featuring celebrity judges.
Advance passes to the festival are available for $65 until March 31. They'll be $75 from April 1 to 19, while limited single-day tickets can be had for $20 to $30 while supplies last. Full ticketing information can be found at the festival's official website.
