Festival season is officially among us, and the Edmonton Folk Music Festival has added to the fray with the unveiling of its 2016 lineup. The fest, which takes over Gallager Park Hill from August 4 to 7, has a little something for everyone this year.

Performers include Calexico, Jason Isbell, Mary Chapin Carpenter, the Tallest Man on Earth, Nathanial Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Passenger, Steep Canyon Rangers, Sarah Harmer and Tom Russell.

They're joined by the likes of Black Umfolosi, John Wort Hannam, Colin Linden, Dar Williams, T. Nile, Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir, Amy Helm, Daby Touré, the Barr Brothers, Fatouma Diawara, the Head and the Heart, Rose Cousins, Mohsin Zaman, Dervish, Lera Lynn and Sarah MacDougall, the Kruger Brothers, Dreamers' Circus, the Cat Empire, Gordie MacKeeman and His Rhythm Boys, KaiL Baxley and others.

Interest in the event ran so high that the festival's official website has crashed. Once it's back up, you'll be able to dig into the lineup a little more.

Tickets for the Edmonton Folk Music Festival will go on sale this Saturday (June 4).
