Bruno Pronsato

Lovers Do

BY Andrea AyottePublished May 27, 2011

Two years in the making, Seattle, WA-based producer Bruno Pronsato releases his third album, Lovers Do, on his imprint, thesongsays. Quoted for saying, "I just want to make romantic techno," Bruno delivers more than just that. On Lovers Do, Bruno beautifully constructs sophisticated, artful, organic, minimal tech-house. His experimental, spatially fractured grooves have been compared to the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, but his unique voice and skilfully produced compositions places him in a league all his own. The first offering, "Lovers Don't," incorporates organic, rhythmic percussion sounds, breezy, orchestral brass tones, jazzy piano grooves and sultry vocals saying, "feels so good," which is what this track literally accomplishes. "Anybody But You" offers a repeated shuffle of soft pads and light atmospheric drifts that gradually evolve under creatively timed vocal snippets. Bruno Pronsato cleverly allows the organic beauty of each element to breathe while uniquely structuring them into an infectious, minimal groove that's sheer genius.
