Brothomstates

Claro

BY I. KhiderPublished Dec 1, 2001

A fabulous release featuring strange, abstract and haunted experimental electronic music. Claro opens up with the spookily atmospheric "In," which is evocative of a haunted lakeside retreat in Finland, whereas "Brothomstates Ipxen" and "Kawa" sound like intelligent dance music for the possessed. In fact, track five, simply called "-," appears to be electronic cruise ship conga line music for the poltergeist-ridden. A really cool track is "MDRMX," which is a cute, simple melody that could have come out of a windup toy box. The closing tune, "Viimo," straddles the line between chill out ambient and some fine electro. Brothomstates is a new and fresh sounding release that heralds an uncharted direction for Warp.
