Fresh off the release of their latest EP, Live from Purgatory, Brother Elsey — the folk-pop project of Michigan-based siblings Jack, Brady and Beau Stablein — have returned with a brand new single titled "Honey." The song is out today via 745 Music, and today, you can listen to it here at Exclaim!
In tandem with its release, the Stableins have teamed up with director/editor Stephen Norregaard for an accompanying moody music video, which sees Brady Stablein starring alongside Megan Cullon.
Co-written and produced Jay Emmons of Kingston rock troupe, the Glorious Sons, alongside Jake Rye and Trews' John-Angus MacDonald, the song was birthed from an open invitation for fans to inspire the band's new release.
"'Honey' is a song that came from a writing prompt by a fan," Brady explained about the track in a statement. "I like to post a question asking people what I should write about, and honey was an idea that caught my eye right away. Honey can be sexy and sweet and messy as hell and I like the idea of drowning in it."
Back in 2018, the Stableins released their debut EP, Matador, which was also produced by Jake Rye at Social Recording Company. So far, they've yet to announce a full-length follow-up, but promise to return with new music in early 2021.
