Broadway Calls

"Election Night"

Now I grew up on this stuff, but I really think that "pop-punk" has replaced "rap-rock" as the bottom of the barrel in hyphenated musical genres. Seriously, have you heard the shit being churned out these days? Over produced tracks that could have easily fit onto the latest Miley Cyrus or Jonas Brothers albums, if only the band members were a little more Teen Choice Awards-friendly.

That's why a band like Rainier, Oregon's Broadway Calls are such a breath of fresh air. They're not exactly breaking any new ground, but by summoning the ghosts of Jawbreaker and All, the trio is here to remind everyone that there is another way. Given the old school nature of Broadway Calls' sound, it should come as no surprise that Bill Stevenson, drummer for pop-punk OGs The Descendants was behind the boards as producer for their new disc Good Views, Bad News. Crank it up load kids.
