It's not exactly the long-awaited bluesy return of Bruno, but Toronto-based lo-fi rockers Brews Willis have just dropped a new free LP called Nerped by a Zircon. The ten-song set, produced by Fucked Up/Young Governor member Ben Cook, moistly blasts by via Black Lips- or Wavves-inspired surf trash, with vocalist/guitarist Ross Carvelli almost constantly backed-up by his bandmates "ooohs."
The turbo-charged beer blaster sports some colourfully titled tunes like "Sun Burn Boner Boy" and "Hell No Fuck You," but surprisingly, the equally potty-humour-angling "Big Fat Tits Veronica" plays out as a lovelorn pop ballad.
