Most memorable/inspirational gig and why? Yo La Tengo/ Magnetic Fields @ First Ave, Minneapolis, MN June 1997. Ira Kaplan went into the most amazing spasms to get these wonderful sounds out of his guitar and Stephin Merritt joined them on stage to recite poetry during "Attack on Love". It inspired me to attack love.

My greatest strength is my willingness to drop everything and play a benefit for monkeys. Oh! That's my weakness too!

Strangest brush with celebrity: Steven Page (Barenaked Ladies) passed me a joint at a post show party ca. 1993... It freaked me out.
