Taking their cues from emo bands like Saves the Day, Farside and Texas is the Reason, Philadelphia trio Breaking Pangaea delivers a debut EP that is thick with guitars and raw emotion. With so many other bands playing this kind of music, it's difficult to make something that sounds original, but these guys have done it. They are hardly breaking new ground, but their obvious attention to detail and desire to make music that matters sets them apart from the legions of pretenders.
