Bouncing Souls To Give Away A New Song Every Month in 2009

Come the new year, punks will join Bone Thugs n' Harmony fans in having a reason to excitedly sing, "It's the first of the month."

Long-running New Jersey punkers Bouncing Souls have announced that they're giving up on the traditional method of releasing music. Well, perhaps that's reading a little too much into their actions, but the band are certainly taking an unorthodox approach to new music. Over the course of 2009, the band plan on releasing a new song to kick off every month. By the time Christmas rolls around, these downloads will then result in a full album's worth of tracks.

Vocalist Greg Attonito explained what Bouncing Souls have been up to on the band's MySpace page: "[We] have been getting some good songwriting done for the past few months. Thanks to the internet and Protools, we have been able to exchange some good-sounding music ideas that are turning into great songs! We should have a few ready to bust out on the Warped Tour. The Bouncing Souls 20-year celebration in 2009 is going to be full of new music! Be ready on the first of each month in '09 to download each new song."

Bouncing Souls released their seventh full-length, The Gold Record, in 2006 and can be caught live this summer on the Vans Warped Tour.
