Boss Hog Return with Their First New Album in 17 Years

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Jan 4, 2017

Boss Hog sprung back into action last year with their Brood Star EP, marking the first new music from the group in 16 years. Now, the band have outlined plans for their first full-length since 1999 with Brood X, which will arrive in March.

Running 10 tracks in length, Brood X is described as "a futuristic brew of 21st century blues, toxic punk rock beat music, and hyper-focused, outer-space psycho assaults," that effectively creates what the band call their most subversive record yet.

The album was recorded and mixed at the Key Club in Michigan using Sly Stone's legendary There's a Riot Going On console, with the lineup of Cristina Martinez, Jon Spencer, Jens Jurgensen, Hollis Queens and Mickey Finn all on board.

Along with the announcement, Boss Hog have shared album closer "17." You can find the brooding, bluesy cut in the player below [via Stereogum].
