Britpop unit Blur returned earlier this year with The Magic Whip, and now the band have unveiled a fun-filled, videogame-inspired video clip for album cut "Ong Ong."
The video follows protagonist Mr. OK — a little smiley face on a mission to save his love from evil bosses. The final challenge comes in the form of a giant anthropomorphic ice cream cone — an reasonable choice given the band's upcoming line of the novelty dessert.
One Mr. OK reaches and rescues his princess, viewers see Blur goofing around in evil boss heaven, as Mr. Cream (Damon Albarn), Mr. Brown (Graham Coxon), Mr. Red (Alex James) and Mr. Black (Dave Rowntree).
Beyond the obvious Mario references, there are nods to old school arcade–style pinball and Pac-Man games, as well, and you can take it all in by hitting play below.
