BLK JKS Return with Zol! EP

BY Josiah HughesPublished Apr 8, 2010

On the heels of their incredible 2009 debut, After Robots, South African psych pop explorers BLK JKS have revealed plans for a new five-song EP this spring.

The release is called ZOL!, and will coincide with the band's performance at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The band are slated to join Alicia Keys, John Legend and many other artists in welcoming the World Cup to South Africa on June 10.

According to a press release, the ZOL! EP "serves as a much more succinct statement from a band settling into their own skin." The release also calls it "the moment's unofficial anthem... not something imported or manufactured for touristic consumption," so expect some soccer fandom from the heart.

Secretly Canadian will release ZOL! on June 8.

ZOL!:
