Blitzen Trapper

"Ever Loved Once"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 30, 2013

Portland-based Americana ensemble Blitzen Trapper have announced they're ready to follow up their 2011 set American Goldwing with a new LP called VII, unveiling new tune "Ever Loved Once" in the process.

The track finds the band in full-on back-porch mode, with chicken-pickin' banjo licks, pedal steel, and harmonica honks taking charge of the country-touched melody. The group's multi-part, CSNY-appreciating vocal harmonies, meanwhile, support a narrative about a guy rekindling a relationship with a long lost flame.

VII, as you may imagine, will be the band's seventh full-length effort, and their first for new label Vagrant. It will hit stores October 1.

Blitzen Trapper will also head out on a North American tour, which includes a Toronto date on October 5. You can see the schedule below.
