Begonia has shared a new song called "It's Too Quiet," the follow-up to last year's one-off single "Heaven." The low-key, soul-inflected track comes with a new lyric video, and in a statement about the song, Begonia's Alexa Dirks said:
['It's Too Quiet' is about] the uncertainty and excitement of new love. When you just want to be around someone all the time but aren't sure how they feel about you, so you second guess every text and every phone call before finally just being vulnerable (AH!) and letting the other person know how you feel. I feel like this phase of a relationship is all at once exhilarating and torturous.
Begonia first previewed an acoustic version of "It's Too Quiet" last year, part of a pair of live performance videos that she shared along with the news that she'd be supporting Shakey Graves on a run of Canadian shows.
Along with the single release, Begonia has also revealed that she'll be performing at this year's SXSW festival in March.
