As King Khan & BBQ Show prepare to hit the road this fall, Mark Sultan has just rolled out a new EP under his BBQ alias. It's out today (September 22) and can be heard now.
While the four-song collection is being released under his BBQ banner, it's titled Mark Sultan. It channels his raw garage rock style, with "Broken Arms" injecting its scrappy surge with '60s pop sweetness, and "Rock Me" taking a hard-hitting approach to vintage pop-soul balladry. "Agitated" is particularly hard-hitting, as Sultan's voice rises to the gruff shout when delivering the title lyric. These were recorded one-man-band style in Sultan's home in Germany.
This is Sultan's first solo release as BBQ since 2005's Tie Your Noose. Hear the EP below. It's being released on 7-inch vinyl in a run of 500 on Sultan Records.
