Bauer's Dutch deconstructionist pop aims to resemble Spookey Ruben, or a much more fey Super Furry Animals - or a less loopy Pizzicato Five. At their best, they come close to all their aims, but never quite hit the bull's-eye. Former Bettie Serveert drummer Berend Dubbe steps to the front, sharing the spotlight with Sonja Van Hamel, and together they concoct all the smoothly surreal sounds spread liberally across 15 tracks, which are more admirable than actually rewarding.
