Baroness Embarking on Mini-Canadian Tour

BY Keith CarmanPublished May 20, 2009

Earlier this month, we gleefully related how Georgian volume dealers Baroness were getting ready to record their fourth album. In case clicking that link is just too intense, to summarize, they're holed-up with John Congleton (the Roots, Black Mountain), recording their sophomore Relapse full-length, which should see the light of day this fall.

However, the news gets even better for you folks in Central Canada and those out on the Left Coast (that would be Vancouver, if you're looking at a map, right?). You're about to have the will-nots shaken off your summer when the Baroness live show swings through town.

The quartet will be hitting select Canadian towns in late July and early August with fellow groove-gurus Clutch and Lionize. Hopefully the rest of us will be so lucky as to catch this weighty power trio but for now, only five shows have been announced.

Those looking for more information, or to pester the bands into coming further to the right side of the continent, should visit the Relapse Records website or the Baroness MySpace page.

Baroness tour dates:

7/29 Vancouver, BC - Commodore Ballroom
7/31 Calgary, AB - The Flames Centre
8/1 Edmonton, AB - Edmonton Events Centre
8/2 Saskatoon, SK - Odeon Event Centre
8/3 Winnipeg, MB - Garrick Centre
