Last month, Baroness frontman John Baizley hinted that his troupe's upcoming Yellow & Green LP would be "a little hookier" than past efforts. The act certainly delivers on their bandmate's promise on newly unleashed track "Take My Bones Away."
The Savannah, GA outfit further refine the pop tendencies of Blue Record, offering up a streamlined, melodic stoner rock anthem, à la Queens of the Stone Age or Torche. Guitar strings are still tuned all the way down, and the drums are bombastically beaten, but just check that triumphant, ultra-harmonious vocal harmony in the chorus.
It'd be hard to not anticipate nightly sing-alongs to this one on the group's current North American trek, whose remaining dates you can check out here.
