Band From Planet X

Kitchener's Band From Planet X are a horror movie-inspired garage rock band who have at least three songs dedicated to proto-splatter master HG Lewis. The sound is organ heavy, which suits the B-film tone of the lyrics, and songs like "Wigs for Sale Rooms For Rent" and "Lewis' Gore" are perfect examples of this. Over the 35 minutes of the CD they also swing into a little rockabilly territory like on "The Thing.” Overall, the music has a very young, primitive vibe that could have actually benefited a lot from a trashier production style. All things said, I'm sure these guys are a howl and a half to see play live when the kegs are flowing freely.
